Virginia
Chartered Clinical, Counselling, and Educational Psychologist

Qualification and Experience

I am a Chartered Clinical, Counselling, and Educational Psychologist with extensive experience working with children, young people, and families. I trained at the Universities of Trieste and Padua and qualified as a psychologist in 2015. I completed my specialist training at the Paediatric Hospital “Burlo Garofolo” in Trieste, where I worked with children and young people with chronic health conditions and disabilities. Since relocating to London, I have worked across NHS, voluntary, and private sectors, providing assessments, therapy, and consultation in both clinical and school-based settings.

Current Work and Interests

I currently work with children, young people, and families, offering psychological assessment, therapy, and consultation. I have a particular interest in neurodiversity and child mental health, and I integrate evidence-based and play-based approaches within a neuro-affirmative practice. My work focuses on supporting neurodivergent individuals, including those with autism and ADHD, through a strengths-based and compassionate approach. I am also interested in the links between emotional regulation, interoception, and self-awareness, and in developing mindfulness-based strategies to enhance these skills in young people. Alongside my clinical work, I provide supervision to other psychologists and trainees and engage in professional development and collaborative projects that promote child and adolescent mental health.

My Approach to Therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each young person’s unique needs. I aim to create a safe and supportive space where children and young people can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences at their own pace. I draw on evidence-based models such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Narrative Therapy, integrating these with play-based and creative methods to make sessions engaging and accessible. I also place great importance on involving parents and caregivers, helping them understand and support their child’s emotional world within everyday life.
