Qualifications and Experience
I am a HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist and BPS Graduate Member with many years of experience working with children, adolescents and young adults in both private practice and educational settings. Since 2014, I have supported individuals with a wide range of emotional and neurodevelopmental needs, including autism, ADHD, anxiety, depression, selective mutism and social-communication difficulties.
My work begins with careful listening and understanding. I use a combination of observation, semi-structured assessment and psychological formulation to develop a clear picture of each person’s strengths and challenges. From this, I offer evidence-based, individually tailored interventions that are flexible, collaborative and sensitive to each client’s developmental stage, family context and cultural background.
Alongside my private practice, I work within a primary school where I lead therapeutic provision for children with social, emotional, behavioural and communication needs. This role allows me to support children through individual and group interventions, contribute to EHCP processes and work closely with families, teachers and NHS Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists to ensure consistent and joined-up care across home, school and clinical settings.
Current Work and Interests
I have a strong interest in mindfulness-based approaches, yoga, and grounding techniques, which I often integrate into my therapeutic work where appropriate. These approaches can be especially helpful in supporting emotional regulation, anxiety management, body awareness and self-soothing skills. I value helping clients feel more connected to their bodies as well as their thoughts, and I see mind–body techniques as a gentle and effective way to support lasting change.
My Approach to Therapy
My approach to therapy is integrative, holistic and tailored to each individual. I work primarily through talking therapy, using a systemic and evidence-based framework that considers not only the person themselves, but also their relationships, environment and wider context; supporting young people and families to develop emotional regulation, resilience and practical coping strategies that can be applied in everyday life, both at home and at school.
