Consultant Clinical Psychologist – Expert Witness in family and criminal courts

Qualification and experience

I am a Consultant Psychologist and an Expert Witness in family and criminal court. I have  25 years experience in Clinical Psychology working across the lifespan in a very wide range of settings with children, adolescents & adults providing psychological assessments, therapies & reports within the health services of Ireland the UK and private sector. These have included an array of psychological and emotional problems including depression, anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, grief, eating disorders, sleep disorders, divorce issues, addictions, victims of abuse, dyslexia, learning disabilities, relationship problems, panic attacks, phobias, anger management, DSH (including TTM), personality disorders, emotional, behavioural & attentional difficulties e.g. Attention Deficit Disorders (ADD/ADHD) and developmental disorders including Autistic Spectrum (ASD) in a variety of settings including residential treatment, community mental health, mainstream and special schools, prisons, forensic hospitals and young offender centres, and residential child care and private practice.

Current work and interests

I have completed an MSc in Nutrition, Food Science and Health adding a valuable skill when working not only with eating disorders but also with depression, anxiety and other mental health issues. Our relationship with food is an essential component to our physical and emotional health.

My approach to therapy

Every client is unique and has unique needs when it comes to therapy and their wellbeing. That is why I use a combination of theories and techniques to meet the specific needs of the clients. These include time limited approaches as well as open-ended analytical approaches.
