Qualifications and experience

I am a Human Givens Psychotherapist and hold an MSC in Health Psychology. I have 30 years experience supporting adults  and teenagers having  worked  in the field of forensic mental health services, mental health research at the Institute of Psychiatry, Community Mental Health teams, the voluntary sector,  and in both Perinatal and Postnatal mental health services. I have supported individuals across the lifespan whist gaining experience working in a range of different services. I have gained considerable experience and understanding of individuals and families and the challenges and difficulties we can sometimes face in our personal and professional lives.

Current work and interests

I am interested in working with individuals, teenagers and couples who are seeking support to move   forward in their lives. If you are currently experiencing distress in any area of your life and are seeking to overcome your suffering and begin to live mentally healthy and fulfilling lives I very much look forward to hearing from you.

Alongside my counselling and psychotherapy work I am also the founder and director of and am currently working to set up a charity called the  which will support work in the field of domestic violence.

My approach to therapy

The human givens approach is a practical, holistic, scientific approach focusing on what individuals need to live mentally healthy and fulfilling lives. The Human Givens theory of psychotherapy was developed by Joe Griffin and Ivan Tyrrell in the late 1990s. The Human Givens approach is a set of organising ideas that provides a holistic, scientific framework for understanding the way that individuals and society work.

Recognising that you are experiencing emotional life difficulties can be scary and leave you feeling vulnerable, talking how you truly feel and exploring what’s best for you in a supportive environment is what I can offer. You will be treated with compassion and kindness.
