Chartered Counselling Psychologist
Qualifications and experience
I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, a qualified EMDR practitioner and a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist. I spent many years working in the corporate sector as a HR professional and business analyst before returning back to University in Australia and embarking on the long (but mostly rewarding!) journey to become a psychologist.
I have spent several years working across a range of populations in both public and private settings, including private hospitals, private practice, employment services, addiction services, the LGBTI charity sector and the corporate sector as a coach and mental health facilitator, where I have assisted organisations to improve psychological health and safety compliance. More recently I have come to specialise in trauma and PTSD work through my training as an EMDR practitioner.
Current work and interests
In addition to my client work at Chat Services, I work at a private hospital and also undertake work as an executive coach. I continue to research and expand upon workplace psychological interventions, trauma research and specialised support for the LGBTIQ+ community.
My approach to therapy
I understand that clients, first and foremost, want to be genuinely heard and responded to in a way that makes positive life changes. I also understand that clients want results: they want to feel better, they want to manage their lives better and they want to get more enjoyment in life. I believe in working collaboratively with clients in a safe and non-judgmental space that encourages reflection, exploration and positive change.
